I was trying to make a photo of the Make Way for Ducklings sculpture in the Boston Public Gardens when this girl wandered into the frame. There was time to get off one quick shot before her brother joined her and the magic was lost.
I really like this shot. I was photographing a parade and was standing at the very end. The police were waving this truck full of musicians through to the parking area. I thought popping around to the back of it as it passed would be a good shot. When I did, the musicians had stopped playing and the shot was very dark due to long shadows. It wasn’t until I brightened up the shadows in the post processing that I saw this lovely looking girl.
I was taking some shots today at a local craft shop and this girl kept staring into the camera as I tried to capture an arrangement of refreshments on a table. She ended up being a much better subject than the food. Perhaps she was looking for her BIG MOMENT.
