I made this image while visiting New York this past summer. I chose to post it today to celebrate two of the students whom I teach becoming U.S. citizens this past week. One came from Afghanistan and the other from Bangledesh. Both have been here for years building a life with their family while biding the their time until they could apply for naturalization. Both prepared for years for the critical citizenship interview. They studied English. They took the 12 week interview prep course multiple times. One has now left my class to begin studying for the HiSet exam (high school equivalency). My congratulations to the two of them.
Congratulations to your students on their achievement!!
Thank you, Judy
A great photo. Lady Liberty represents so much…a great share. Kudos to your students and to all seeking a new citizenship in a once far country, they now call home.
Thank you so much.
As a refugee immigrant myself, the Statue of Liberty symbolizes what is best of the United States.
Thank you. It is an important symbol.
Wonderful photo and applause to your students on their achievements.
Thank you, Judy
Congratulations to both of them!

Congrats and welcome to our new citizens. Some day, soon I hope, I will see Lady Liberty for myself. Nice photo!
Thank you. It was overcast but we had a decent view of it. I hope your trip is going well.
Thanks! We got home earlier this week from the cruise. We can’t wait to go again. 🙂
