This black bear crossed through our yard on its way to our neighbor’s home. She put’s out bird feeders during the day. Bringing the feeders in at night is usually a safe bet, but not today. This black bear hung around for a while and attracted a few viewers.
That bear is huge, and you captured it (in photos) beautifully!
Thank you, Hien. Photos are the best way to capture wildlife.
Wow! I hope your neighbor rethinks her bird feeders. That guy is huge. Great shots though.
I agree but don’t see that happening.
I wasn’t expecting to see a bear! Once I did, though, I wasn’t surprised to see that a bird feeder was involved.
Yes, they love those seeds and nuts. And suet!
Oh my God..
Is this animal dangerous.. I mean.. Can it attack people Or hurt them??
Great images Chris..
You live in a unique place indeed.. You are So lucky my dear friend..
Thanks for sharing..
They are huge and can harm people but tend to run away rather than confront humans. Thank you, Sohair.
Great..
Welcome..
Goodness! Bet you’re glad you weren’t having your breakfast, alfresco!
True. I’d hate to have him steal my granola.
Wow what a gift…spirit of the black bear…I can only imagine your emotions… healthy looking black bear…enjoy your coffee Chris wonderful fotos 👌🤓🐻sending joy💫hedy
Thank you, Hedy. It was wonderful watching him.
OMG, quite a visiotr
Yes. He was looking for breakfast.
Yikes–he’s huge! And he took down the bird feeder! The bears come out at night in the county over from me–luckily not in my area. Great photos.
Thanks Lois. He was a big one.
Wow, Holy Cow! Good for you to get so many great shots!
Thank you. It stayed around long enough to get many images.
It really surprises me that these bears really dare to penetrate into the inhabited areas…. the time when they were shy is also over. Doesn’t this pose a danger to the local residents, I assume that these bears do pose some danger.
There is some danger. People are encouraged not to put out feeders and to lock up their trash. If bears become too used to humans, they become a threat. That seldom ends well.
hmmm love his coat.. however not about to want to see how soft it is… smiles and waves..
Smiles and waves back. I’d love to feel his fur but think it unwise. This (with a long lens) was as close as I dared get. It creeps me out when they look at me.
wow, I thought these pictures are taken at some zoo first! She has beautiful shinny fur!!!
She does. She’s out there roaming freely.
I am glad I don’t live in bear country., though I do love to see them in the wild when I get the chance.
We don’t see them that often. Mostly they come around at night. It is a thrill when we see them.
Wow! Glad you didn’t take him by surprise!
Me too. Thanks, Ann.
That would wake me up more than any jolt of coffee…yikes!!!!
The same goes for me.
