When I was on a spring shoot, I came across this battered door bearing the seal of the United States Geological Survey. It was on the stone building pictured below. I was able to peer in through a gap in the door. There wasn’t much in there. I saw a few chairs. With the USGS seal, I expected something more exotic.

Love old doors! Great photos.
Thank you so much.
I love coming upon mysterious abandoned buildings. Peering inside is invariably disappointing.
It’s never as good inside as our minds imagine.
I know–and as many times as I’ve been disappointed, I still expect to see something fascinating inside. You’d think I would have learned by now.
Great black & white photo. 👀🍃
The shadows on the building are beautiful. Is that a door over the door you photographed? And ghost windows? This is one strange building, Chris.
I think it is a door over the door. Perhaps it was once a stable and that way the hay loft.
I didn’t think of that, but it makes sense. Thanks, Chris.
love the door, a mystery =^_^=… waves a big ” good afternoon!”
Hello and good afternoon. The sun is finally out here.
Love the edginess of the beat up
door. I imagined opening to a scene like something out of the secret garden. Sorry it disappointed. Great photo.
Thank you, Kathy.
Beautiful shadows on your mystery building.
Thank you so much.
We love this mysterious door. We would have been curious of what we would find behind this battered door.
Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much.
Hehe! I know the feeling – I once peeked into an old dilapidated shed on our former Tempelhof airport, hoping for lots of mechanical parts – but no such luck.
Gorgeous images 🌷
Thank you, Sohair.
Welcome 🙏
