USGS Door

When I was on a spring shoot, I came across this battered door bearing the seal of the United States Geological Survey. It was on the stone building pictured below. I was able to peer in through a gap in the door. There wasn’t much in there. I saw a few chairs. With the USGS seal, I expected something more exotic.

I know–and as many times as I’ve been disappointed, I still expect to see something fascinating inside. You’d think I would have learned by now.

The shadows on the building are beautiful. Is that a door over the door you photographed? And ghost windows? This is one strange building, Chris.

We love this mysterious door. We would have been curious of what we would find behind this battered door.

Hehe! I know the feeling – I once peeked into an old dilapidated shed on our former Tempelhof airport, hoping for lots of mechanical parts – but no such luck.
