I made this image near our home last week. This lane leads to some hiking trails. I assume from the name that livestock were once driven down it to get water from the brook below.
This is so pretty, Chris. If any of these gentlemen knew you were taking their picture, they should have asked for a copy. This is ‘hang worthy.’ Gorgeous colors.
Thank you, Sandra. I’ve photographed this area before and so have good ideas for locations to take pics from. The colors were beautiful that day. Yay to a bonus day off. I hope you had a good one.
Love your photo and I’m happy to have discovered your blog. I used to live in Danville, NH on a farm with a 300 tree apple orchard, large barn and historic 1730’s home. We had a narrow cow lane that went from our barn that now leads into the woods but I’m sure at one time it was all fields.
Oh, thank you. That sounds like it must have been a beautiful home. So much of ENew England was fields at one time. We don’t have many areas with really old growth trees.
The colours are wonderful. Also, there is nothing like a vanishing point to draw you into a picture!
Thank you, Ashley. I agree about vanishing points. They do draw the viewer into the photo.
What a beautiful place for a walk – great picture!
Thank you. It’s a great place to walk.
What a glorious walk down the lane. 🍁🍂🌾
What a beautiful spot! Hiking there must be glorious, regardless of the season. Well, maybe not mud season. 😉
Thank you. Mud season is nasty there. That’s a time to find alternate places to pass the time.
Hiking among the autumn leaves is the best!

Thank you Lois. I think they were unaware they were in my shot.
Very nice place, it seems.
Thank you. It’s a pretty spot in any season.
Beautiful place 👌👌
Thank you, Dulcy. Have a great day.
Looks like a painting…nice composition Chris…have a joyful day ~ smiles hedy ☺️🍂🍁
Thank you, Hedy. My “models” just wantered ito the shot.
Nice perspective, I find the path unusually wide between the two dry stone walls.
Thank you so much. I think it was wide to drive the cows down without them getting to spread out. That’s my theory at least.
What a beautiful lane. The changing leaves are gorgeous! Nicely captured!
Thank you, Andi. In many places most of the leaves have already fallen. It’s a pretty time but so fleeting. Have a great evening.
Looks like a scene from a movie, Chris. Beautiful!
I hit send by mistake. Wanted to add that I like the perspective. Great colors too. I hope you’re doing well! Hope you’re enjoying another day off.

It was a good day. Went by too quickly. But thankful for a good day just the same. Hope you have a great night my friend!
Good night. Zzzzzz
Oh how beautiful the colors are! And what a lovely place to take a stroll!
Thank you, Nancy. It’s a beautiful place for walking.
This is a good poster photo…shows depth and people love it!!!
Great image.. You live in the heaven Chris 👍👍👍
Thank you, Sohair. I’m fortunate to live in such a pretty location.
Looks like a wallpaper to me. A lovely shot for sure. 😇
Thank you =)
