For those train enthusiasts out there who come to the White Mountains, there is the Conway Scenic Railroad. It leaves from this vintage railroad station in North Conway and has different routes that take you on journeys ranging from one to five and a half hours. I’ve never been on it but know the longest ride takes you high up through Crawford Notch. It’s a scenic pass through the mountains. You even cross the Frankenstein Tressle (named after a local person not the classic book). Here are a few photos of their train cars.

That buildings color scheme is outrageously over the top. I love it!
Thank you so much. I took this photo on a gorgeous day with perfect lighting.
My husband has been wanting us to take that train ride. Maybe some day . . .
What time of day was the last photo taken? I’ve never seen a sky that shade of purple.
It was early morning. I did the color adjustment based on the white on the building. It could have thrown it off somewhat from that.
I was wondering. It’s a very striking photo.
This is fabulous! The magic of trains 😊
Thank you so much. They are magical.
My husband loves trains. In downtown Indianapolis, Union Station’s historic hotel offers individual train car rooms to book. I surprised him for his birthday with a weekend stay. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 👏
That hotel is awesome. I stayed there for a conference once but sadly not in a train car.
Beautiful!
Thank you so much.
I love those railroad excursion trips and take them whenever the opportunity arises. Looks like you’ve shown me another that I should put on my bucket list. 🙂
BTW, my wife and I are just starting a photo excursion through state and national parks in the upper Midwest. I’ll be scarce online, and will have a lot of catch-up reading to do when we return home in about three weeks.
I’m always happy to add to someone’s bucket list. Have a great rip. Thank you for the heads up.
They train and carriages look spotless. They must have some excellent people working on them, maybe volunteers?
I don’t know who maintains these train cars. It is a business , so they could be paid staff. I also wonder if they have a way to protect them in winter.
Interesting! I will look them up although I can’t see me getting across the pond anytime soon! 😊
This is the time to make lists of things to do and save money for the post-pandemic period.
I love trains especially the older styles on your wonderful photos here. Lots of great memories. Thank you for sharing. Great post! 😊
Thank you so much. I’m glad that you enjoyed them.
I saw the Conway train go through Bretton Woods but I didn’t know the station was so photogenic.
Great colors! You photographed these beautifully! What a pretty day. I hope you’re doing well Chris!
It was a beautiful day. This is such a nice area. I hope all is going well for you, Sandra. Take care.
You have awesome adventures! Beautiful!
Thank you so much. I’m fortunate to live in such a place and have a spirit for adventures.
Wowww, if these pictures couldn’t make anyone fall in love with them, I don’t know what could! Even the trains seem so photogenic. Loved this, Chris. Take care.
I’m glad you enjoyed the images, Aratri. It’s wonderful that there are places like WP to share our creative efforts. Thank you and have a great day.
