This lighthouse stands high on a bluff in Falmouth, MA. The past couple of weeks I’ve been spending some time on Cape Cod to help my parents with some things. It has slowed down my trips to make images of covered bridges quite a bit but the good news is that I can share views like this.
Beautiful photography!
Thank you, Sir
Very Cape Cod!
Ah yes. There are more. Perhaps another year the goal could be all the lighthouse on…..nevermind.
Ha ha! Don’t put ideas in your head, right?
Exactly. It’s dangerous.

Great photo. I have always been fascinated by lighthouses. Thank you.
My pleasure. Thank you, Sir.
I like light houses.
Thank you…Me too
you think! that is a beauty of a find… sea mist and all…glad you are not idle =^_^=
I’m glad you liked the lighthouse. Ha ha ha, I am never idle.
Oh lovely! Lighthouse have such history and stories. A delight. Thank you.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Your parents are fortunate for your care Chris and you also see the beauty … be safe and sending you joy from the north ~ hugs hedy βΊοΈπ€π«
Thank you so much, Hedy. Smiles.
I’ve always enjoyed images of lighthouses. This one is no exception. Last year, on a visit to Baltimore, I learned that there were lightships with crews stationed at points where lighthouses weren’t practical. Those are gone now with the development of small, low power beacons that don’t require constant maintenance.
Those lightships are pretty cool. Years ago, I was able to tour the lightship Nantucket and climb up into the light. That was pretty cool but not for the faint of heart.
so fascinating!
Thank you so much.
I can relate to your comment about climbing up the lighthouse not for the faint of heart. Several years ago, the lighthouse on the Navy base here in town had a holiday open house with lighthouse tours. I opted to climb to the top. Whew! Glad I did, but I doubt I would do it again. Talk about narrow and winding!! Such a lovely photo, Chris.
Yeah, those steps in lighthouses are tricky. You have to be careful. Thank you, Lois.
Love lighthouses! Have to drive over 2 hours to see one here.
From home, I’m about 90 minutes.
This is Cape Cod?! Just as beautiful as I imagined. What a relaxing scene. I love it! I hope your visit with family is going well! Take good care
Thank you, Sandra. The coast of Cape Cod is beautiful. It’s good to see family. You take care also.
Happy Sunday β€
And to you as well.
A wonderful image. Blessed be your parents and God bless you Chris π
Thank you so much. =)
Oh my gosh… look at this view! So very pretty!
Thank you for sharing.
Happy day to you my friend.
Thank you, Nancy. Happy day back at you.
I love this photo. I have not been able to visit a lighthouse, yet, but it is definitely on my bucket list. This one is beautiful and the angle you have captured it from is perfect. Nice work Chris!
Thank you so much, Andi. I hope one of these days you find the time to visit a lighthouse. It’s really fun, especially if they let you go up inside of it.
Great capture of this lighthouse!
Thank you. My niece found this angle. She’d been staying in this area and had a lot of time to explore this location.
And what a wonderful view it is!
Thank you, Sarah.
I love lighthouses. In fact, I’ve just finished reading a book about those around Britain and Ireland (Seashaken Houses by Tom Nancollas). I must get out more and do some sketching; goodness, I think I’ve just discovered my next project!
What a great project. I still want to take the ferry out to Boston Light in Boston Harbor. That seems to have the rocky quality of the lighthouses in that book.
Okay, now we both have a goal. I’ve discovered that there are about 14 lighthouses in Ireland and some have accommodation! I’ll tackle those closer to home first maybe I’ll go south next spring.
I’ve climbed up in lighthouses but never stayed in one. Currently, they are only offering tours that go by Boston Light but don’t land there to explore the island. Perhaps, this is something that needs to wait for the end of COVID. I wish you luck in getting to stay at a lighthouse. That would be very cool.
Hopefully, I will write about the lighthouse adventures here!
I look forward to it.
