The past few days, I’ve been at the coast helping my parents with a few things. My niece was also there and we got up early one morning to cycle down to the beach to make some pictures. We had a lensball with us and tried making a few shots with it. My best shot is the one above. The image below was taken just a few minutes before without the lensball.

Disclaimer: This is not an ad for Lensball. To be honest, I have a glass sphere but it is not a brand name Lensball. Calling it that is just sounds better that “glass sphere” or “crystal ball” in my opinion.
What a marvellous image! It reminds me of a marble. I think we still have some like this somewhere.
Thank you. It does look a lot like a marble. I was trying to make it look so that people wouldn’t think I’d just taken a close-up of a marble.
I think it’s a very clever photo and you got the shot perfectly.
Thank you
That sunrise was worth getting up early for!
Most definitely.
LOL you don’t want us to know you have a crystal ball, and that you carry it with you, always looking into it. Your broom like mine is a fold away right.. so no one really knows of our hidden talents..You sly warlock you!
Ha ha. You’ve figured me out. At this sunrise shoot, I was telling fortunes of people on the beach who came over to check out the lensball. I somehow saw coffee in everyone’s future.
Wow. Very beautiful. Thanks for the introduction to lensball. I always wondered how photos of that style were created. Great post. Thank you. Your posts are treasures. Thanks again π
Thank you so much, Suzette. I appreciate that.
Brilliant good way to start the day…clarity…have a joyful time Chris ~ sending joy hedy βΊοΈπ«
Clarity at anytime is welcome. Have a great day, Hedy. Cheers!
Wow..lovely. wonderful.ππ
Thank you so much.
Call it a lensball….keep us guessing! π I did not know it was an actual brand name, so that’s what I call mine. Ooops! Very pretty photos–both with and without your ‘glass sphere.’
Thank you, Lois. Have fun with your lensball (lower case “l”)
Wonderful.
You are not advertising but I want a lensball now π
Thank you. Get a generic lensball. They are much cheaper. I’m not sure if there is a difference.
Beautiful shot and how about calling it a glass marble? hehehe
Oh, that would be a good one too. Thank you, Teri!
π
WOW! so beautiful, fascinating. Thank you, Love, nia
Oh, thank you, Nia. I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
So you are taking your crystal ball with you now on you trips! Does it say that Covid is going away very soon!?!
We love your sphere and all the captures. How wonderful to spend time with your niece as well!
Happy day to you Chris… Enjoy your time with your parents.
Thank you so much, Nancy. I wish the crystal ball could tell me the end date for COVID and that it said “very soon”.
We all do Chris. Thanks for letting me poke fun. You enjoy your time on the coast.
Wonderful capture
Thank you so much.
so fascinating!
I like the result of your lensball photo.
Thank you. It was fun making this image.
I love that you and your niece share this hobby! What a great way to spend time together. These are beautiful images Chris! I think you’ve mastered this lensball which sounds like it is trickier than it appears. Take good care!
Thank you, Sandra. I feel far from being a master of the lensball, but I’m learning.
Looks fantastic from here Chris!
I had never heard of a lensball, but have been talking about it all day now. I am looking forward to seeing what else you capture.
Thank you. It’s a fun and challenging little addition to my bag. I’ve found all kinds of great photos made using it online but it’s not as simple as it sounds. Usually when I use it, I spend a lot of tme hovering around it with my camera trying to get the right angle.
That is a lovely unique shot through the round thingy (*cheeky me here as you explained “lensball”) – you are a good photographer and that was not easy, I am sure of it.
Thank you so much, Garfield.

Beautiful
Thank you so much
This is so aesthetically pleasing! Love both the photos. π€©π
Thank you so much.
wow. this is so beautiful.
Oh thank you. These lensballs are a fun little toy to play with making photos.
Oh ..my God..just fabulous.
Thank you Sohair. I hope all is well.
Yes thank God. π
Oh my god, I’ve missed a lot of your posts.π This is really beautiful! Take care, Chris.
Both are stunning images! Does your niece share your passion for early mornings or did you have to bribe her with pancakes for breakfast? π
She loves to sleep late but gets up to go out with Uncle Chris
Well, kudos to her!! I admit it would need a bribe to get up early in my case. π
Crystal ball, what’s wrong with that? Wonderful photo!
I’ve had some fun with that little crystal ball. Sadly, I haven’t been able to see any fortunes in it.
Reading your blog has put some ideas in my head, so maybe that little ball is really magic!
Perhaps it is…Who knows? Have a great day.
My God!! so serene.
I think sunrise and sunsets are one of the most beautiful gift nature has given us.
I just can’t get enough of these pictures.
I too spent whole evening today clicking sunset sky, soon going to upload all of them β€π
Thank you. Oh, I hope you post your sunset photos. I love the light at sunrise and sunset. It’s so beautiful.
