These are my favorite flowers. While they are typically called “miniature blue irises”, but we have always called them”blue flags”. These came from my mother-in-law’s garden many years ago.

I love the colors in this one, the punch of purple against the green grass, with blurred red in the background. I have some of those irises in my yard, too.
Thank you, Liz. I’m glad you get to enjoy them as well.
As it happens, mine just opened today!!
Irises come in the most beautiful colors. 💜🍃
Don’t they. We have some in other colrs but these are my favorites.
Blue flags–I like that name. Such a gorgeous color, too.
It’s a great name. This is why I love June.
They have a beautiful deep blue color, lovely to see.
Thank you. They are such a pretty color.
love the colors in the photo, Chris, gorgeous!!
Thank you, Alex. The color is amazing.
And the story of your ancestors…our irises also have stories to tell…rich gem colour…enjoy your gardens ~ smiles Hedy 🌷☺️
I love our gardens. They are my wife’s pride and joy.
That’s not the covered bridge in the background is it? Nice shot Chris. I can see why these are your favorites! So pretty!
That is our barn in the background. Sorry, no barnyard animals. It looks like a barn but was actually built in the 1940s to house a pair of school buses. Thank you, Sandra. I wish you a pleasant evening. 😊
Great colours!
Thank you so much. 😊
🙂
They are gorgeous!! Love that color! 💜💙
Thank you. You can see why they are my favorites.
Quite beautiful Chris! And such a lovely purple! I have those irises in my Pennsylvania yard… I hope to see them sooooooon!
I see a beauty of a barn in the background!
Wow, it’s unusual that chilly New Hampshire is ahead of other locales.
TRULY BREATHTAKING! And such gorgeous colors! Intensifies my respect for the moment. Thanks as always Chris! 💜💜💜

Oh. That’s so very kind it you. 😊
When I was a child, I knew a very sweet old lady who had a garden full of Irises that she always called flags. She would let us walk through the garden with her, and point out all the different colors she had. You post and lovely photo reminded me of that!
Oh, thank you so much. I’m glad it brought back a pleasant memory.
Beautiful, whatever you call them!
Thank you so much.
Big wow here🌳💮🌸
Thank you, Sohair.
Nature is beautiful , but I came to see it more, in your garden …The bluish shade makes it very beautiful this early morning.
Oh, thank you so much. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. Have a great day.
I love them too! They’re so beautiful and the colours are amazing. 😄
