As I was meandering some backroads, I saw a sign for MIT’s radio observatory in Westford, MA. I drove in and could not get to the MIT observatory but found these interesting structures belonging to the Amateur Telescope makers of Boston according to Google Maps.
How interesting, particularly that second one!
Thank you. I wish I could get on the grounds of the actual MIT observatory. I’ve seen images on Google and it looks like I could have a field day making photos.
these facilities look so peculiar, love that side-view in that second shot… are there telescopes in there?
They are odd, aren’t they? Yes, these were built to house telescopes. I assume there are some inside. Have a great day, Alex.
Those crazy boffins at MIT 😉
Indeed! They have cool toys though.
Wow what a sight these are, Chris! I’m hearing reports of terrible weather out your way. I hope you and your family are safely riding out the worst of it. Take good care.
Thank you for your comment and concern. We had light snow earlier but now the problem is strong wind. A power line came down due to a fallen tree branch in the last hour but it was across town and our power is fine. Thank you again.
I guess the reports were true. I hope it passes quickly!
Us too. It seems to be subsiding. Thank you.
So glad to hear that!
So cool! Always wanted to have a telescope big enough to need a little house of its own. 😄
They are wonderfully shaped structures.
