A simple bird box – rustic and real. I have seen some really aesthetic ones and I wonder if the birds can see color? If not, the ornate ones are then really wasted for the birds but pleasing to the humans.
I think some of the ornate ones are beautiful. There is one not far from our home that I should post a photo of. I like the rustic quality of this one. It goes with being in a marsh.
Yes, this rustic one matched the environment it is in. Nice capture as sometimes the rustic ones tend to escape a photographer’s eyes as the ornate ones tend to garner more attention. I like this one, non pretentious and serves a useful home for the birds.
They are amazing and so graceful once they take flight. It’s been a night of correcting homework (groan) but also connecting with students in one class who I’ve not been in touch with since the schools closed. That was fun.
Iβm certain your students appreciate interacting with you too. My daughter who is in 3rd grade connected in Zoom with her teacher and classmates today. Highlight of her day!
That’s great. My sister said the same thing when her daughter has a zoom meeting with her theater group. I think resuming classes gives a sense of normalcy in an abnormal world.
That’s a nice and sturdy birdbox. π Wouldn’t it be great to see new birds departing from it in the summer? It seems you’ll have to camp there. ππ
A familiar and welcome sight in these parts!
So true. i wonder what the animals make of our changes in behavior.
Relieved to have more of their habitat to themselves?
Well, except the hiking trails are rather full these days.
I’ve been wondering about that too!

Birds are all set for shelter in place too π
They have to fly two meters apart. π
Is that where Woody’s pet bird lives? π
Ha ha ha. Maybe.
Looks especially charming in black and white! Very nice Chris.
Thank you, Sandra. When I was making this photo a huge Blue Heron took flight. They are so big that I never think theyβll get off the ground.
Iβll bet that was a sight! Iβve seen pictures of those. They are so beautiful! You have a good night!
