Motif #1

This often photographed and painted building sits in the harbor in Rockport, MA. It was adopted by a local community of artists as a desireable scene to paint. The original was built in 1840 and destroyed in a blizzard in 1978. It was rebuilt the next year.

      Thank you. The trick is finding the right spot from which to take the photo. There is a little shop that lets you shoot out their back door as a way to get people to come and visit. Pretty good marketing!

        Yeah that is good thinking, isn’t it? If they would carry art supplies and offer sketching/watercolor/photography classes they’d do really well!
