This evening, the USS Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat, hosted guests to observe evening colors and Christmas tree lighting. It was a unique opportunity to get to know the vessel and the men and women who serve on her better. #ussconstitution

Lovely collection of shots! You have hit on something a bit different to do at the holidays.
Thank you. It was not your typical tree lighting ceremony.
What a beautiful vessel and such steep history!! Love showcasing it during the holidays in this manner!!
I’ve come to learn the Navy does a lot of events to try to showcase the ship and it’s history. I’ve started following it on fb and Instagram to try to catch the ones that interest me. Thanks.
Looks like a lot of fun on Milford Street! 🙂

Such a wonderful post and delightful photos, Chris! Christmas time on a vessel like this must be really special! I adore ships like these and am in awe that it is still in use! And how lovely that the women and men serving on it, donned these fabulous uniforms for the occasion! Thanks so much for sharing! Cheers!
My pleasure. It was a unique experience both to spend this time on the ship and to get to know our sailors a bit better.
