First Snows

A couple of weeks ago, we received our first snows. It was two back to back storms that dropped a total of 27 inches of snow on our area. Clearing out the first day was tiring but okay. The second day was difficult. I made few photos because of all the work but snapped this image from our back window.

Makers of Chains

This fall, we went to a Renaissance Fair and Blacksmithing Event. There were numerous people working with iron. The man in the photo was literally making a chain, hence the title. It was a time consuming and laborious task to do this by hand. Those of you who are Game of Throne fans will get the tie-in with the show.

Christmas-time on the USS Constitution

This evening, the USS Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat, hosted guests to observe evening colors and Christmas tree lighting. It was a unique opportunity to get to know the vessel and the men and women who serve on her better. #ussconstitution

Lowell Christmas Lights

My wife and so spend a lot of time in Lowell in the summer. They have a great concert series. But until I started working in Lowell three years ago, I didn’t go into the city at Christmas time. I didn’t know what I was missing. They have some beautiful holiday lights. This is one of my favorite displays. These lights tower over the mills and really add something to the city and the season.
