Just up the road from Milford Street in the town of Milford, NH, they held the annual Pumpkinfest last weekend. They closed off the town center. There was music, and food, and carnival games. There is a family area where both faces and pumpkins are painted, and you can even get all the supplies to make your own scarecrow. The winning pumpkin weighed over a ton. BTW, don’t we all need our own donut machine?!
Wow! How big are those pumpkins in your first photo? Did you say ‘doughnuts’? I’ll be right there. ๐
The winner was over a ton! Don’t we all need a donut machine? I’m going to add this information to the post. Thank you, Lois!
can almost smell the fresh bagels…. yum
Mmmm hmmmm
Great photos, capturing small-town life at its best! At the retirement community where my mother lives, a couple try ever year to grow giant pumpkins for the fair, but they always seem to end up with some kind of weird pumpkin malady or genetic defect.
Thank you. I donโt think pumpkins are easy to grow. We got three normal sized ones this year and thatโs a record for us.
I agree. For the past two years, our pumpkin vines haven’t produced fruit, even though they did before. I don’t know if it’s the wrong seeds, the weather, the soil, or what.
And we have no idea how to repeat the success of this year. Sigh
Hoping you enjoy the craving they are huge pumpkins…and you have a joyful week Chris โบ๏ธ๐ซ many smiles ๐
Thank you Hedy. We will carve a pumpkin just before the 31st. Cheers!
Wow, what huge pumpkins. It looks like you had a lot of fun that day – and a beautiful Milford Street day!
Thank you. Those pumpkins are amazing. It was a fun day. Cheers
That sounds like a fun! ๐
Itโs a pretty fun time. Thanks!
OMG! Those pumpkins are gigantic! I’m actually feeling a bit afraid of them! ๐ At least if some fairy decided to turn them into carriages you’d have enough room for a whole family. ๐ That donut machine is awesome – I definitely need one of those! (And will likely turn into the size of said pumpkins afterwards. ๐) Fabulous shots of the Pumpkinfest, Chris!
Thanks, Sarah. Yeah, the donut machine would be dangerous, to say the least. The pumpkins are something else. I wanted to photograph the weighing-in but was needed elsewhere.
