Last Saturday, was the finale of the 2019 Hampton Beach Sand Sculpting Competition. They leave the sculptures up for a couple of weeks, weather permitting. It’s fun to go the day the competition ends for voting and such, but it’s so busy. So many people go to the event. So, we went a few days later. The crowds and prices to park were much better. These were some of my favorites. The artists come from various parts of the US and Canada.

Impressive! I am always amazed at what these sand artists can do. Thanks for sharing! We have them around here but I never go because of the crowds.
Thank you. As I said in my post, we specifically went today to avoid the crowds. It was cool and cloudy at the beach, so we accomplished our mission.
First place sculpture is truly exceptional.
I agree. There was an interview with the artist and in short it’s all about breaking out and being who we are meant to be. I didn’t look at results of the competition until we’d seen most of the pieces. I wan’t surprised that this won. I would imagine New Jersey has its share of such competitions.
It probably does, but I have never been to one yet. One of these days. 🙂
Extraordinary!
They are. It’s really amazing.
I was there in 2010, these Artists are incredible! Thank you for sharing!
We have sand sculpting competitions here in sunny FL, but they are nothing like this. These are impressive.
They do a great job. I’m not sure how they attract the talent.
Wow, they are amazing!!
I agree. These artists do amazing work. Cheers
Just amazing!
They do some amazing work. Cheers
Wow..that’s amazing Chris.
Thank you, Sohair. Cheers!
Amazing that the sand sculptures can stand majestically like so! I wonder if there are scaffolds to hold these art forms together or is it purely sand compressed to become sand sculpture?
I think there is a lot of compression of sand in molds before sculpting. I’m not sure about scaffolding.
😃
They’re all fabulous! I really couldn’t choose a favourite! 😄
They are all really marvelous. CHeers!
I love Hampton beach I am from new Hampshire
Yeah. Hampton Beach is great. I like to drive to Odiorne Point and then ride my bike down to Hampton and just kind of hang out before cycling back.
I wish I could but I no longer live there. But I use to love rollerblading on the board walk. And my favorite was the Italian sausage grinders.
While I was never good at rollerblading, I have a thing for sausage grinders with peppers and onions. 😋
Yes sir they are the best
