In rural areas like ours, there is no town water. Everyone has a well, including restaurants and businesses. Skilling & Sons is the big well drilling and maintenance company in our area. They’ve serviced our pump and equipment over the years. A while back, they put this old antique drill rig at the front of their property with a Skillings and Sons logo newly painted on. Clearly, from the way it is braced, it has structural issues and won’t be running again. But it is cool to look at it.
It has character.
It belongs in a museum.
It does. They are supporting it in steel girders propped up on blocks. I think the fram or anzles are gone. It’s a real “fixer-upper.”
Really cool to look at! Fab pics, Chris! I didn’t know that about the water, interesting! Cheers!
Thanks, Sarah. Yeah, life is different in the countryside. Have a great weekend. Cheers
I thought that all US people drink from Mississippi like we drink water from the Nile.
But in Sainai they drink from wells.
Great images Chris.. Cheers!
Interesting. It never occurred to me you all drank from the Nile. Well, almost all. Most communities here have their own water sources but it’s more practical in rural areas for people to have wells. And no rope and bucket! We have a pump. Cheers!
Here also they use pumps.. Cheers.
Love old things! And this is so cool. Interesting about the water.
Thank you, Nancy. I’d never seen an antique drilling rig before this. Cheers
Really cool pic indeed. 😄
Thank you. I pass by this most days and it still catches my eye. The company has some modern drilling rigs. They’re cool but the old one has more character. Cheers
I like antique as well. I am actually looking for an old bath tube at the moment. I have a deco project in mind. Still haven’t found what I am looking for but I sure have lots of fun searching for it. Keep well Chris.
Wow, I’ve no idea where you’d find an old tub. Deco is cool though. Good luck with your project and have a good night. Cheers
Thanks! Sleep well.
Well I’m imaging many happy Albertans here today 🤔 I have been around these antique drills here too 🤓 fun … have a happy day dear Chris 💫
