Thank you. I’ve not seen the plans for the replacement. I doubt it will look the same. My guess is that it will be something that will get a lot of cars over the water as quickly as possible. Cheers
They are replacing a bridge in my town…a nightmare. The contractors already missed a $15 million dollar deadline to have part of it completed. I’m OK with that though. There were talks about cracks in the concrete…no cracks! They can take their sweet old time as long as they get it right. Beautiful photo, Chris.
It looks great and maybe that is why they ain’t doing anything about it, especially if it was still structurally sound. Perhaps the old adage of “If it ain’t broken, why fix it?” Perhaps? Or raising funds?
Thank you, Garfield but I t’s actually not in great shape. Also, it is not designed to carry enough cars over it. The bridge connects two large sections of the city. I can understand the need to replace it but will miss it. Cheers
love the lines – and strong architecture feel (and wonder if the eventual construction will change the look or just fortify)

So
Function first….
Yes. I doubt the new bridge will be ugly but it won’t have the character this one does.
yeah – I guess we shall see….

Thanks Lois. It is amazing how long it takes to replace such bridges. I agree; no cracks!

Aah now I get it. It does need work then.
The picture is beautiful
Thanks. It’s in a folder of fav early morning photos from Boston.
Very nice.
They probably know it’s beautiful and therefore are going to leave it.
I’d like to think that but if you see it up close, it needs a lot of work. Cheers!
It’s a beautiful bridge! Whyever would they want to replace it? Has it become unsafe to use?
Thanks, Sarah. It is bordering on unsafe. It’s in rough shape and not very efficient. The sity has grown a lot since it was constructed. Cheers!
In that case I’m all for building a new one!! 😀 Happy weekend, Chris! Cheers!
The sky looks amazing from afar..nice shot Chris !
