I made these carolers for my mother 30 years ago. She’d stopped using them a couple of years back and last Christmas returned them to me. I gave them a fresh coat of paint and put them out next to our house with a floodlight on them and few white sparkly lights on the fence behind them. They make me smile each night when I pull in the driveway after class.
Last year, I tried making a reindeer from wood using some old logs. It was okay but fell apart over the summer. We recently had some trees taken down. I used the fresh timber to make this guy. I’m getting better and faster at making them.
Wow, you are a true artist and craftsman!
Thank you so much. π
I love your carolers! The old-fashioned wooden decorations are the best and these are your originals! No wonder they make you smile!
Thank you. π

Thank you Sid. You as well. Cheers
You are definitely getting better with your craft. That little bit of anecdote you shared from 30 years ago was very sweet π
Thank you. Experience is a great teacher. Yes, I really like that I was able to use these old caroled figures. It means so much more than if Iβd made a new set. Cheers π
Merry Christmas and joy to you!
Happy Holiday!
Love them and the reindeer! Wish we had something that beautiful to look at in our backyard too!
Maybe I can visit and bring my chainsaw. Airport security wouldn’t have a prblem with that, would they?
Sure, no problem. π But I’m case they’d get nervous after all, we have some very nice DIY shops selling or renting them out too. π
These are beautiful. Making old stuff look anew is the utmost satisfaction. I love your entire blog and all the effort you put into them. You are a lovely being. Shine on! π
Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. I have great reading for your work as well. Cheers
