The Bunker Hill Monument is a 221-foot (67 m) granite obelisk on a hill in Boston. I went to shoot it a night. The first image (below) is nice with the stark monument against a blue-hour sky. It’s kind of minimalist. I noticed the statue of William Prescott at the base of it and wondered if I could use it to make a more interesting image. I set my tripod us low, really low, and mad the top image. I like it better. It has a different feel to it and just has more happening. It’s just a different way to see it.
Very impressive! 🙂
Thank you so much. Cheers
and here I was going to congratulate you on your climbing skills and duh, you set up low to the ground….clever!!
Thank you. I have climbed it…inside. I can’t recall if it’s step or ramps. I’d LOVE ❤️ to shoot photos from there at night.
Cool viewpoint, for sure. And look at that clear sky!
Thanks, Christy. It was a nice sky. It was a very warn night but there was a nice breeze on the hill where the monument is. Cheers!
That’s an awesome shot, Chris! The statue does lend it a different, and in my eyes, better kind of feeling. It tells a story where the first shot doesn’t so much. And the dramatic angle adds to it very nicely. Cheers!
I agree… nicely done!
