I did not post the last two day because we were away. We drove up to Burlington, Vermont on Friday and took the Green Mountain Railroad’s dinner train. This is a three-hour excursion into yesteryear. They play jazz and serve classic cocktails. You ride along Lake Champlain, past tiny villages, and by farm fields. Time just stops for three hours while you eat a wonderful meal. It was a great time. Cheers!
ahhh you really did get on board, congrats, loved the mini trip, thank YOU for sharing the vista. loved the pic of the train _/\_
Thank you. It was my pleasure to share them. It was a fun time. Cheers!
Ideal excursion!
It was. We liked it enough to look at other dinner trains in other areas. Cheers!
I really like the idea of dining in a train. I have been meaning to get Thailand and ride the Orient Express or travel across Taiwan by train. I am glad you did get to experience it. 😃
Wow, the trip you mention would be amazing. Cheers!
Haha! I need to find time to do it and I will put it on my bucket list🤔😁
good scenery and good time in a train. sounds like a relaxing three hours.
Thank you. The scenery was just beautiful. Cheers!
What a wonderful excursion for you! The train picture is fabulous along with the hatted ladies!
Thank you. The hatted ladies were a hoot. There were a total of 10 of them. Cheers!
Love picture #5, #7 and #8. Dinner train sounds like a fun hangout 🙂
Thank you, Himali. It was a great hang out. Have a great day. Cheers!
Is the dinner train stationary or is it moving ?? I’m curious to know 🙂
Oh, I am green with envy! Husband and I love taking train rides like this one (wine trains too) when we can. Thanks for taking me along – just lovely!
Thank you. We had a great time. After doing this one, we are more apt to try others. Cheers
Lovely way to go.
Thank you. It certainly was. Cheers
Oh! What fun this looks! Love the these kind of trains and travels into yesteryear sound awesome! The hatted ladies are the cherry on top! 😄
Thank you Sarah. The Red Hatted Ladies were delightful. Cheers!
We thought of doing this two years ago when I was incapacitated with a badly broken leg but in the end we did sometime else (still in Vermont). Your post is a timely reminder and I will investigate further – it looks such fun!!
They also run a fall foliage train that leaves from Chester VT. It has daytime runs with more of a pub menu so you can see the fall colors. It looks nice. We may check it out. Cheers!
Thank you for the tip … I have two daughters coming over from England in October – it could be just the thing to do with the pair of them for a nice away trip.
That would be fun. I’m not sure what is in Chester, other than the train. It looks like there are some inns and B&Bs.
Thank you so much, Chris …. you act as an excellent guide to this novice New Englander!
Thank you for the comment about the Pitchblende blog post. This happens to be my Blog!

Thank you, Lindy. It was a fun evening. Cheers
We keep saying we’d love to do something like that. This post might spur us to look into it more closely. Wonderful photos…
Thank you, Annie. It was a lot of fun. We are looking at others in New England to try. Cheers
Lovely pictures!
Thank you so much. Cheers!
