The angles and lines of this aging shipyard crane mesmerized me. This crane is a leftover from when the Navy Yard shut down in the 1970s. I played with different shots and angles and this was my favorite. Below is an image from a couple of years ago to show you one of these cranes in a more typical orientation.
Fantastic job with the angles and lines in this one, Chris! It looks like it could stretch into infinity. Have a wonderful Sunday! Cheers!
Thank you, Sarah. I probably made a dozen exposures but this one worked the best for that very reason. Have a great Sunday. Cheers!
I was going to say where you get that nice blue sky these days, then I saw that you wrote the image is from two years ago. π
Yeah. It’s been tough for getting images these days. I’m working on a portfolio of Boston morning shots and need sunny weekend mornings. There have not been a lot of them this summer.
loved the second picture, you know me and “old:
Thank you! It’s not so much “old” as “classic” Cheers!
Whoohooo.. these are some interesting shots and I love the angle from which the snaps are taken. BDW, Chris, I work for an EPCI company, and we have tons of cranes, ships at our deck on the port. I wonder you would love to take shots of the place π
Thank you, Himali. Iβd love to come and make images of those cranes! Itβs hard to get access to such things here. This place is more of a museum than an active shipyard. Cheers
Yes!! We have plenty and also some imprssive DB vessels, huge iron pipes… Google MCDERMOTT and you will get a feel. If you happen to make a trip to Dubai, do let me know, Chris
Hmmmm. Currently, I have no travel plans. A friend from university is teaching in Dubai. Maybe someday I can visit both of you. Cheers
See you soon, Chris π
They are amazing, balance and all. When I grew up, there was only one crane in our town, and the operator was a woman. Everyone knew her π
Oh, how non traditional. I love it. Cheers
Just saw the beautiful “Milford Street” logo by Sarah on your side bar and your stunning FLICKR photos. You never fail to amaze me, Chris π
Thank you, Himali. Usually, the Flickr photos are there before they become posts. Cheers.
Love the picture of the bird !
Oh, I have hummingbird photos and turkey photos. Cheers
