A few days after I made the image I showed yesterday, I returned to walk among the buildings and take more photos. Not all of the buildings in this complex are abandoned, but most of the ones here are vacant.
These are great, Chris. I like how someone wrote ’employees only.’ I think you would have a hard time convincing me to go there even if I was an employee!
No. I think that would likely lead to problems. Not all the buildings are vacant and there were people in and around some even on a Sunday morning. If I get a legitimate offer to go inside, though, I’d take it. Cheers
Thank you, Sarah. When I added color in most of the images, it was distracting. I’m not sure how old these are but I’d say late 19th or early 20th century. I hope you had a good weekend. Cheers
Isn’t it great that modern technology allows us to play with the many possibilities to make the most of one picture? Do you shoot with the b/w modus or in colour and then change it later in post production?

Those old warehouses have great character.
are you going inside ?

Great shots, Chris! The b/w ones have such a wonderful atmosphere – it’s like you travelled through time and landed in the middle of the 19th century!

I shoot color and then convert it after. I like to have options and will often play with a few different presets in Lightroom
That makes sense. Lightroom is awesome! I only have it on my phone but it makes a huge difference.
I recall how active and vibrant such places were. great captures.
It must have been quite the place in its time. Thank you. Cheers
These are fabulous! Enjoying the black and white ones but all are great!
Thank you, Nancy. Cheers
What striking photographs!
Thank you, Jolandi. West Fitchburg is full of old buildings. They are perfect for wandering around and taking photos.

It makes you wonder about what they were like back in their heyday. Great shots, Chris!
I do wonder about that. What would it look and sound like? Thanks, Christy. Cheers
Oooooo! Nice decay 🙂
Yeah, I was afraid this would be fenced off but it wasn’t. Some of teh buildings are still in use. Cheers!
