This field lies between our home and the nearest city. I drive by it a lot and have loved this planting of what looks to be some type of wheat. On Sunday, I managed to have my camera with me at the same time that we had some really nice light. It’s a good think that I did it then because all of this is gone now. They are preparing the field for the next planting.
Wow. Timing really is everything. It is a beautiful photo, Chris.
Thanks Lois. We usually don’t get fields like this here. Cheers
Glad you caught it! Sometimes the simple things we see all the time slip by us. Right now we are seeing fields of cotton and sorghum. TGIF to you!
Thank you and TGIF to you also. Cheers!
Very, very nice shot, Chris π
I like the mixture of colors.
Have a great weekend, my friend!

I see similar scenes when I drive, but I did not stop to take pictures like you did. It’s a very nice photo, and I will have to follow your example one of these days.
I’m not always so good. There was a shot I wanted in a field a few months ago and hesitated and what I wanted was gone. That’s motivation to not wait.
Nice photo β€ β€ β€
This field seems to extend forever! It looks so peaceful π
Thank you, Christy. It does feel that way, though this is small compared to fields out in the Midwestern US. Cheers!
It looks great these golden wheat!!
Great image!
Thank you. Yes. We don’t get many fields like this. Here is is mostly corn. I am told there is a bear that lives in the far edge of the field.
i’m fond of these spaces…has that Alberta feel…have a wonderful productive and snappy week Chris π
Some of you images have inspired me to stop and make photos like this one. Have a great week, Hedy. Cheers!
thank you ~ smiles you too Chris! π
I have been wanting to stop and capture “fields of grain” ever since on my way home from Cleveland, listened to Louis Armstrong singing “it’s a wonderful world.” Such a beauteous sight and the lighting is gorgeous! Thank goodness you caught this just in the nick of time, Chris. π
Thank you, Robin. I was really glad that I stopped. We don’t get wheat like this here. It’s mostly corn. That’s such a great song.
Your picture Brings back Nice memories.
Kind regards,
Thank you. Kind regards.
The eye flies!
Thank you. Cheers!
Beautifully balanced framing, Chris. I like the way I feel drawn into the picture by the dip in the treeline and the flow of the wheat. You live in a beautiful place.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, Jan. Cheers
Looks totally like a view Monet would have loved to paint!
Yes, it would look good painted in the Impressionist style. Thank you. Cheers!
