I hear about SOWA, the Boston neighborhood South Of WAshington St. quite a lot. (“SOWA” – get it?) I stopped by a few weeks ago to stroll around and make a few images. It was a bit cold and dreary. They are known for a big open market in the warmer weather. I plan to return. In the meantime, here are a few images.

I really enjoy when you share images of around Boston city and sites:) thank you Mitch!! Have a great weekend!
Oh, thank you so much. I hope you have a great weekend also. Cheers
Cool! New lands to explore.
Thanks. I’m trying to find some new places. Cheers
This must be a thing. We have a SOGO…South of Government St. I like yours, Chris!
Thank you Lois. A lot of towns and cities have these acronym areas now. Cheers
that door is super kool..it is a mind blast! like totally WOW..LOL see it got my attention!
Thank you. I’m glad you like it. Cheers.
We have a creative and still rather dilapidated area of Columbus called Franklinton. They have artist lofts and some rather worn out buildings. My brother, Randy, had considered coming “back” to Columbus. Chris, from his college days at OSU and working in a rough neighborhood on his art, he had chosen to move up to Cleveland, where life was being lifted in the Arts area, about 15 years ago. His three level suburbs location is so much *”safer” from robberies and vandalism. I think when he had his quadruple bypass surgery, he realized he had made the best choice. I miss his being close since we hung out like each other’s wing man on club nights and outings. . .
Your post made me think this area has potential!
So many areas that were “let go” twenty years ago in Boston are now hot spots. Cleveland to Columbus is not too too far but I’m sure being closer to your wingman would be great. Cheers
Yes, we both love the same music styles and used to help each other out so much more. I stayed at his “house” and gallery over Easter so we visited other brother and of course, Mom but went out both nights. 🙂
It sounds like you have a great relationship. You’re fortunate. Going out sounds fun. 😎
Oops! Your photos were colorful and I especially liked the criss cross look to the wire gate on one building and the pediments designs over windows in the long building. Those black with white swirls stones above window set are pretty!
Thank you. I tried to find some nice features. Cheers
Yes, great painting on the one building, too. Almost tropical! 🙂
I like this area and hope to return sometime soon. Cheers
wonderful hood…love the colours Chris…have a wonderful Sunday! 😀
Thank you, Hedy. I wish you a wonderful Sunday also. Cheers
thank you kindly Chris 🙂
Cool shots, Chris! I predict you will have much fun taking pictures in this neighborhood! And we as well seeing your photos! 😀
Thank you, Sarah. They have some weekend events and a first Friday event. It’s a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. I hope to get in a couple of times. Cheers
Sounds great! Can’t wait for it! 😄
Interesting variety of graphics and colours.
Thank you 😊
So beautiful images Chris!!
Thank you…I want to go back for some of the summer activities. =)
