This young lady was kind enough to perform a SECOND split for me. I missed the shot when she did one for her mother, and she offered to reenact it. This was made at the Boston Marathon finishing line. People do all kinds of things there. They sit, kneel, stand and lie down. She was the only person I saw who did a split.
OUCH!!
Yeah. I never could do this and would not want to try now. π
OhMySplit! Young, elastic and extand(a)ible π
Cheers!
Sid
Yes, it takes a young body to be able to do this. Cheers
Ahhhhhhhh many moons ago I could do this…MANY!
Ha ha ha. Yeah. I never could but it was not really a guy thing. π
No it wasn’t π Used to do cartwheels and back bends too. On a good day I might be able to do a cartwheel still the back bend? Not a chance in heck LOL
I am always amazed at how flexible our 8 year old niece is.
They are still made of cartilage so they are flexible π
Aren’t sharks made of cartilage also…little girls and sharks, hmmmmm
Some days one is scarier than the other π
Ha ha ha. π
Hurts just looking at this.
Oh yeah! π«
Wow! Agile indeed!!
Oh yeah. I could never do this. Cheers
Unique way to finish the marathon :). I never could do this!
Ha ha ha. This was actually the day before the marathon. But she certainly had style. I remember my sister practicing splits. Ouch!
Dhe did well. The younger they start and keep up, the better they do, like all the gymnast and ballet dancers!
Yes, I agree. And she needs to keep doing this to keep that flexibility! Cheers!
Yes, one of my sisters had that flexibility when she was two, but didn’t keep up!
I can do this, too. Nice shot, Chris π
xo β€
Wow….I remember my sister being able to do it. Keep it up. It is one of those “use it or lose it” things. Cheers!
I’ll try π
I love her joyous expression, Chris. π This was an excellent photograph! I didn’t realize people did this. Is this since Patriot’s Day? I wonder why I didn’t see this image before, at the finish line? Probably don’t watch the sports news enough! π
She was definitely having fun. This was made last Saturday night, two days before the race. They pretty much have the finish line set up all weekend and people come down to take photos. There was a reporter there from NBC but I am not sure they captured her split. Cheers!
I am so grateful you mentioned the finish line is set up before the race and available for photo opportunities throughout the weekend before the race starts. One day, you never know, I will be back to Boston! Thanks, Chris for sharing some unique parts of the Boston Marathon.
My pleasure. Let me know if you ever come back for a visit. Cheers
I hope we will stay in touch, so will do!
ππΌ
Woo Hoo! Good for her and you!
Thanks, Nancy!
Great shot, Chris! I could do this too when I was much, much younger π But IΒ΄m not going to try and see if I still can, because I just know that not! π Cheers! Have a beautiful Sunday!
Yes, I think at some point the split falls under the category of “Don’t try this at home”. Thank you and have a great Sunday also.
LOL! Now I have to think of all those gymnastic shows and olympics that are broadcasted and should be added with this advice in big fat letters of warning red π
Ha ha ha. True. π
