Last weekend was the annual Ice Fishing Derby in our little town. Actually, they had a three-day Winter Festival and the derby was part of it. It was the warmest derby that I have been to. It was nice not to freeze, but not many people drove their trucks out on the ice. As always, the people were friendly and having a good time.

Great photos. I’ve always wanted to try this, looks like a great time. Not much ice here. 🙂
Thank you. You do need ice for ice fishing. Maybe someday you can take a winter excursion someplace snowy and enjoy this and some of the other fun winter activities. Cheers
Wonderful pictures! I hope you had a lot of fun not only making pictures but ice-fishing too perhaps? Cheers! 🙂
I had fun but am not much into fishing as a sport. It was great being out there, though. Cheers.
Never did any fishing but I think I would actually like it. Being in nature etc. and afterwards have maybe something to put on the table 😉
Wow!! Nice photos!! I would like to try ice fishing one day. So far I just fish in winter off jetties in Australia ha ha! ☺
Hmm, not much ice in Australia. Perhaps a bit in your drink but that does not help with fishing. Thank you, Garfield. Cheers!
Lol!! Cheers my friend. I miss USA😊
Amazing pictures, as ever! 😊
Oh, thank you so much. I hope that all is well. Cheers
All is fine … it took a while but I seem to be ducks in a row sorted now. I just emailed you 😊
Lovely snaps !
wow, your photos of this event are better and better every year… now this is different from what you would see here (and I quote you) lol :)) love the happy faces in the photos 🙂 have you met someone from previous years, Chris?
gorgeous annual series!!
Thank you, Alex. I told some of the people I met there that people around the globe find the photos from the ice fishing derby to be interesting. I did not run into anyone from past years this trip. I saw a couple of ice houses that I recognized but the owners were not home. More photos tomorrow. Cheers!
These tough New Englanders certainly know how to have a good time. 🙂
That the do. And folks seemed to be enjoying this. Cheers
Nice shots! Looks like fun! Did you ride the ATV?
Thank you. I did not but it is a long walk from shore to the bob houses. I would have readily accepted a ride. Cheers
That is awesome! Definitely a great way to make winter enjoyable!
Thank you. Yes, a number of people have their bob houses out there all winter.
You come up with such interesting photos. I really enjoy them, MilfordStreet.
Thank you. It is a bit of a game to come up with new materials but somehow I do. Cheers

I will try. Have a great week also. Cheers!
You will! 😀
Okay, I have to admit that I’ve glanced in a few ice fishing holes, Hedy, but I’ve never really looked. This site is so creative. Thank you. Cheers!
Love the photos!
Thank you so much, Anne. Cheers!
Die-hard fisherman! Reminds me of a scene from the movie, “Dirty Old Men.”
Thank you. Yes, I think I know the scene. Nobody was grumpy out there.
I meant “GRUMPY Old Men!” ha!
I know! Ha ha ha
It was a great set of photos, Chris! The colors against white ice background are astonishing!
