Yesterday, we visited Hancock Shaker Village on the Massachusetts border with New York. They are a Christian sect founded in the 18th century. Few of them remain. They are known for living simply and for their craftsmanship. The Shaker village in Hancock Massachusetts is now preserved as a museum.
I drove there years ago (from home in NJ). So great to see this again.
Wow! How long did it take you? It was like a two and a half hour drive for us. And totally worth it. Cheers!
I was in my early 20’s then and had repaid the loan on my car to my dad. I was free as a bird, Chris! I drove to MA, RI, and CT. I was on my own and I could do it, darn it! It was fun. Memories…..
It sound like an awesome time. There is such a freedom when we’re young. Cheers!
I like to visit historical sites, try to find unique places and enjoyed your photograph here. The yellow painted parts contrast nicely with the worn, gray silos, Chris. The blue sky is so brilliant!
Thank you so much, Robin. I saw some fall photos here last year and really wanted to visit. I really like going to historical sites also. It was the perfect day to visit. Have a great weekend. Go out and do something fun. Cheers!
I had fun and enjoyed a few different outdoor activities, Chris. One with two granddaughters and another with a co-worker friend. First Fridays in Delaware, Ohio are quite lively occasions. Weekends are never a dull moment. 🙂
It sounds like a fun weekend then. Weekend were not made to be dull. 😉
Life’s an adventure…I to
I too love the colors the way they complement each other along side of nature…. so beautiful.
Thank you, Hedy. It’s so pretty there. You seem to like historic areas. I think you’d enjoy this place. The Shakers were amazing crafts people. They created such simple elegance. Have a great week. 😊
