Grand Central Terminal (aka Grand Central Station) is a crossroads with people coming and going. We showed up at a relatively quiet time (Sunday morning) but we had a photography permit, which allowed us to use tripods in the iconic train terminal. These are a mix of images made with the tripod and handheld with a higher ISO.
Lovely images!
Thank you, Kritika Cheers =)
Wow! Brilliant Shots, Chris.
Thank you Shreya…It is such a great place. I hope you’re having a good day. Cheers
Photo number 2 is like Cairo Train Station
All are nice
Really…that is so cool. I was at this place once before on a weekday and there were soooo many people. It is probably the same in Cairo. =) Thank you and have a great day.
Great shots! What’s the waiting time to get a photographer’s pass? I’ll be there around September if nothing changes.
I am not sure because the trip organizers set up the passes. You should contact them because they typically don’t give them out to groups as large as ours (14 people). Their are a lot of rules. While you have the pass, follow the rules and then when your pass is up and you put your tripod away, do your own thing. Good luck.
great opportunity, i am jealous 🙂 i have some OK shots (after editing) but they would have been so much better with a tripod.
Thank you, Anne. It was a very nice opportunity. You can’t bring the tripod to certain parts of the building but it is nice to have some images without so much grain.
Great shots and lucky you with the tripod permit. They get so testy about that 😉
You could contact them next time you are going to NYC and see if you can score a permit. Lots of rules but if you do, let me know. The instructors had a good plan.
Actually we are toying around with coming back through Boston soon(ish) Thanks
Oh really….let me know when you might be around. =)
Will do!
Beautiful shots. Such grandeur!
Thank you….It is a grand place. Cheers
Great photos. You really captured the space beautifully! The place seems so immense!
Been ages since I’ve been. (I grew up in NYC.) Great shots.
Thank you….Grand Central is such a classic. It must have been interesting growing up in NYC…Cheers.
I loved this! ! How could I have missed it and stupid WP unfollowed you from my blog
I thought you weren’t posting any stuff 😦
Hey Izza…That happens sometimes.
I’m glad you liked this. I have not been as consistent the past few weeks due to travel but am settled again, now. I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Cheers =)
Yeah day is going good Chris 🙂
it’s a fascinating place… and the shot with the couple is so cute… 🙂
Thank you…I really like this place. Train stations are magical to me.
The terminal recently had gone through a major renovation for its 100 years. Spectacular architecture. Great photos
Thank you…Perhaps that is why it looked so wonderful
