Heading north on Route 1A on the New Hampshire coast, just before Portsmouth, you come to Odiorne Point State Park. With a rocky coast and nature trails, it is ideal for exploring tidal pools and nature trails. On this day, there was ice in the tidal pools and the nature trails were full of people with snowshoes and cross country skis.
My parents lived in Dover, this brings back memories. Fabulous fotos~
Thanks…Wow, Dover is not far at all.
OMG! wow
Thank you š More icy photos to come…..
Interesting! I never thought about snowshoeing or cross country skiing on the beach! I like your captures. What kind of birds are those?
Yeah…I knew they had snow there and really wanted to experience it. The trails at Odiorne Point were pretty packed down and walkable from other hikers and people snowshoing. The beach was where a pair of snowshoes would have been handy. The birds are actually a sculpture. i believe they are supposed to be herons. Thanks….Cheers
these are beautiful shots, Chris!! love how you composed the first one… so vast, cold and lonely…
the flock look like real to me š
Thank you. I played with that first shot quite a bit to get it right. The flock makes many people think it is real. I was here in October or November and tried making a photograph of the flock but they dn’t really show up against a green or brown background well. This was perfect. Thank you again, Alex. š
