Jeffrey Hardware - Utica NY

Some building seem to demand to be painted. This one, in Utica New York, was one such building. It was taller than anything around it, had the sign painted on a significant portion of the side, and contrasted well against the sky. I was compelled to stop and make an image or two and chose it over others to post today.

I googled it last night to see if I could get a bit of history on the building and found out that it is now closed. One post said the owner passed away and another said it fell victim to the big box stores (Walmart, Home Depot and /or Lowes). We have a great local hardware shop near our home that I try to make sure I patronize because they provide a level of service and benefit to the community that the big box stores do not.
