I really enjoy low light shooting and have been playing with it for a bit over a year now. I had a mini-tripod with me but there was no really good place to set it up, so I did this hand held. (ISO 800 1/100 sec at f/3.5). There was so much light from the marquee that it really helped. In editing, I even decreased the highlights a bit because the sign we too bright and then add a bit of contrast, clarity and vibrance. I’m glad you like the shot. – Thank you 🙂

It’s a gorgeous building right? 🙂 There’s another that’s a favorite of mine called Proctor’s (it’s in Schenectady, NY), but what a lot of people don’t know is that it started in Troy, NY. The old building was bought by RPI, and unfortunately the school hasn’t done anything with it…the building is slowly rotting from the inside out (but you can look through the windows still and see the seats and the splendor it USED to have<3).

We heard about Proctor’s but by the time we arrived in Schenectady and climbed the hill on Union Street to our lodging, we were too tired to explore any more. The old theaters are just great.
