Iskwelahang Pilipino

The Lowell Folk Festival has a number of food courts with ethnic foods cooked by local community groups as a fund raiser. The Iskwelahang Pilipino food tent always has the longest line and (in my opinion) the best food and most lively staff. These are a few images from this past weekend.

To translate: Iskwelahang Pilipino means Pilipino School. What else did you eat. What’s on the menu. Did they have “chocolate” looking food that is made of pig’s blood? Tell me more.

Pig’s blood? what you meant is the Betamax, It’s actually a street food slang for grilled chicken blood.

Yes! This is a fundraiser for the Pilipino School. No, they did not have the dish you mentioned. I got a combination plate with beef barbeque, fried rice, Pancit Bihon, and lumpia. I also had turon. The food is really wonderful, as is the community.

Mil, Great stuff! Now I am craving for turon. Mil, I was wondering how come I don’t get a reply from you. It seems that your response is posted as a comment. If you click on reply to my comment, I will get it on my reader. Thank you for posting the food court.
