Palais du Luxembourg – Reflections

Luxembourg Gardens, that wonderful oasis in the middle of Paris. People seem more comfortable sitting here and having lunch or sunning themselves than in other Parisian parks I’ve visited. On my first trip to Paris, my hotel was up the street, and though I stepped in briefly, that visit was very busy and I settled for promising myself that I’d be back. The next visit was with my wife, but we stayed in another section of the city and never made it here. With one day in Paris, we made this our first stop. After we checked into our hotel, we took the Metro to Cluny La Sorbonne and walked up to Luxembourg Gardens, buying supplies for a picnic on the way.
